Saturday and Sunday

Posted on | July 9, 2006 | No Comments

On Saturday I sat around for a good number of hours with nothing to do. Luckily my friend, Kevin, who I haven’t seen in a few months, gave me a call and asked if I wanted to hang out. Of course I did!

I went over to his apartment and we sat and BS’ed for a while and he showed me a few humorous videos that he had downloaded as well as some funny songs. They sound like midi files but the lyrics were done using the audio demonstrations of the words in an online dictionary. At least that’s what I gather from the file names. I had him email me the one which you can listen to by clicking on the link above.

Kevin just recently voluntarily ended his employment with Comcast. Comcast loves to give their call center reps various promotional items. I saw one of them on his desk and marveled over its awesomeness. I apparently marveled too much because he ended up giving it to me. So, behold, the beauty of that which is a “Dead Like Me” bobble-head Grimm Reaper:

Grimm Reaper

No, you can’t have it! It’s my precious and now resides on top of my TV, where it belongs!

Damn, I miss that show. *cries*

Anyways, while I was at Kevy’s apartment my friend Chad called and invited me to go see Pirates of the Caribbean with him and Rose. So, after a couple of hours at Kevin’s I went home to wait for Chad and Rose. Oh, and before you all think I’m rude, I asked Kevin if he’d want to go too. And I also stayed at his place just as long as I normally would. I didn’t just up-and-leave. GAWD!

Chad, Rose, and I first went to Best Buy because they have been shopping around for a new TV and were finally buying one. I also bought myself a headset with microphone to use during mine and Chad’s next podcast that none of you listen to cause you all hate me! *ahem* Anyways, we then went from there to the theater, saw the huge crowd, and decided to see the movie some other time. And we just went to the mall to eat.

After the mall we all went back to my place and made sweet, sweet love… oh, wait, that’s not what happened. Oh, we watched some “Penn & Teller: Bullshit” on Video on Demand (ya gotta love that show), and we looked at some of Chad’s photos from Japan.

Now, today, Sunday, Chad called me and asked if I wanted to try and see Pirates again, which, of course, I did. He even paid for my ticket, which was cool. Luckily he pre-bought the tickets ’cause the movie was sold out when we got there. So, yes, again, the theater was packed. Unlike the first theater, though, this one didn’t have several movies playing that were drawing huge crowds, so it was a little more tolerable.

By the way, why do people insist on bringing their fucking babies to the theater? Look, get a fucking babysitter, or don’t come. It’s that simple. No one paid to listen to your brat scream, or make cute little noises, they paid to see a movie. The couple who brought the brat were seated just a couple of seats away from me and I kept glaring at them every time the baby made any noise. Not only did we have to listen to the kid but we had to listen to the guy tell the baby to “Sshhhh” and then the woman chastizing him for sshhh-ing a baby. “Don’t sshh him. He’s a baby!” I wanted to turn and tell them that that’s exactly why he shouldn’t be in the theater.

Luckily the man took the baby out of the theater about a quarter of the way into the movie. Chad had turned to me at one point and said that he hopes someone is more rude than him, and will comment. I told him that I’m about ready to. I fucking hate that shit.

After the baby was gone we were able to watch the movie in peace. Aaahhhh…

Yeah, I don’t know where the guy went, either. The woman stayed behind, which was considerate of her. I imagine the guy ended up having to wait out in the lobby. He never did come back in. Or perhaps someone else in that auditorium stopped him and set him on fire for us. Hmm, there weren’t any fire alarms so maybe he was stabbed.

Hopefully only the dad was stabbed. Ya can’t blame the baby…

Anyways, so… now I’m back home.

Oh, I forgot to mention that on Saturday, when I was over at Kevy’s, he mentioned that his car had been broken into and the stereo was stolen. This is the second time that this has happened to him and his girlfriend. The sad thing is that they live in a far nicer place than the ghetto that I live in. They also have a secure building and a secure parking garage. The car was broken into in the apartment building’s shared secured garage. And the perpetrators were even kind enough to damage the car considerably in the process of stealing shit. They broke the window and tried to pry the door open with a crowbar or something. Nice! Ah, my faith in humanity’s evil has been restored.
