VW Syncro

A while back my friend Sara and I were driving about Everett and I happened to glance in the direction of a car lot and saw this vehicle. I nearly creamed myself. I like distinctive vehicles; something that would be an appropriate “Dave-mobile.” Unfortunately, at the time, we were on our way somewhere and we didn’t pull over to look at it. Later, when we tried to find it again we couldn’t remember which lot it was in.
Time passed and I stopped dreaming about the truck/van/thing. I moved on and mourned the loss. Yesterday, though, I had to take Jared to the VW dealership so that he could get the rental car which they offered to him since they couldn’t repair his wife’s car in a timely manner. On my way out of the dealership I spotted the VW Syncro, which I have been referring to as the truck/van/thing up until today.
Today, I picked up Sara so that we could go get something to eat and I mentioned the holy grail vehicle and told her that I wanted to stop and take a look at it, just for the Hell of it. I can’t afford to buy a vehicle but I was curious how much it would cost and wanted to take a gander at it up close. When we got to the dealership and could get a closer look at it we both really wanted the Syncro badly. It was throbbing with awesomeness, but, alas, there was no price on it. A short while later, as you might expect, a sales person, who looked about 15 years old, came over and talked to us about the van/truck/thing. He said it was being sold for “twenty-seven thousand.” Now, I had been thinking this thing couldn’t possibly be much more than a couple thousand, if that, so when he said “twenty-seven thousand” what I heard was “twenty-seven hundred.” When I mentioned that $2700 wasn’t too bad he corrected me and I boggled for a moment how this vehicle, though awesome, was worth that much. Apparently it’s a collector’s item or something.

Heartbroken, we left… Now, all I’ll have is that camera-phone picture of my precious. And don’t even try to tell me it’s funny looking. That’s the point! It’s unique… and it looks all sad all cooped up in that dealership.
