Random Shit

I recently purchased season one of Heroes and had to return it. My DVD player would lock up and then turn itself off whenever I tried to play the un-aired pilot episode. It would play the opening credits, pause, make whirring noises, ponder the meaning of life, come up with an answer of 42, and then turn off. I then hooked up my old DVD player to make sure it wasn’t just a player issue. Same thing. 42.
After getting that exchanged and watching, said, un-aired pilot, I have to suggest that everyone else make an effort to watch it. The cop who wasn’t even in the original pilot is fairly prominent in the un-aired one. Later, when you watch the second episode, you’ll see that they reworked a lot of his scenes and changed a bunch of things, removing the whole terrorist plot line. They clearly decided they weren’t going to air that episode by the time they started working on the second episode. “Isaac’s” hand seems perfectly fine in episode two.
Aside from that, there’s not a lot going on. I found out that I have Monday off from work so that will be nice. I’ll be watching a lot of Heroes over the weekend. I also have Lost: Season 1 from NetFlix and some Battlestar Galactica from NetFlix as well but they sent me the wrong disc in the series and I don’t want to watch them out of order.
Yesterday, I was cutting that ugly wire shelving at work and I discovered at the end of the day that my hands were riddled with cuts from the rough edges of the cut wires. My hands look as though I spent a good deal of time strangling a blackberry bush. I have four or five scratches on my arms too, but the majority of my slices are on my hands. I have about 15 cuts, of varying degrees, per hand. Most look like paper cuts or very superficial, but others are a bit deeper and actually cause me some discomfort. None of them drew any blood… aside from the one on the back of my right hand. The odd thing is that I never notice the cuts when they happen. I notice them when I’m packing up my shit and getting into my car. I’ll grab the steering wheel and my hands will feel weird. I look and see the carnage and wonder when the Hell that all happened. Then I feel all butch… and run home and play with my Hairspray dollies, and my life is put back into perspective.
