UPS Automated Phone System

Posted on | October 22, 2008 | No Comments

Don’t ever attempt to call UPS. Getting to an actual live person requires the successful navigation of a gauntlet of useless automated questions from a voice recognition system. The option of speaking to an agent is only offered after sitting through two sessions of it asking you to choose from their four or so options, twice. After sitting through them both, while I say nothing, it says “I’m sorry, I didn’t catch that. Please say… [blah, blah, blah]” Eventually if offers an agent. You choose that option and it, defeated, states that it will send you to an agent… but first, please choose from this same list of option that you were given twice earlier.

I tricked it and pushed zero. It then, in a very defeated manner (not exaggerating too much), offered to send me to an agent for real.

I just wanted to know when the case for my new digital camera, which I got for my birthday, would be delivered. Answer: Just as I was typing this and bitching to my friend Sara, via text message, about UPS delivering so late.
